GREAT WAYS TO SPEED UP YOUR PC

Everything that happens within a computer affects its speed and how the programs work in it. There are many things that a person can do to keep a computer running just like the day that they first bought it. A
computer can be fixed or made to run fast, or faster by making sure that every protection program in the computer is up to date. You can even do basic steps like performing a disk clean up to get rid of unneeded files. This can easily improve the speed of a computer.
Keeping a computer running fast is not a hard thing to do, if the person knows what they should be looking for, and how often they should keep up with the maintenance in the computer. Some people believe that they have to spend sometimes hundreds of dollars to keep their computers running fast and everything updated, but in reality all that they need is time to clean up their disk drives regularly and make sure that they have enough space in the system’s storage and physical memory for it to perform optimally.
There are a lot of factors that can keep a computer from running slow, and from being able to load a program or file smoothly. One of the many is having too much junk data lying on the PC. Constantly downloading unneeded files may be a threat to the computer system. Many people think that they have the perfect programs to keep harmful files out of their computers, but what they do not realize is that even with safety programs installed they still need regular maintenance on them. They need to keep updating them. This is just a few of the things that can help a computer run faster and better than ever.
We keep storing data to our computers directly or indirectly over a period of time. We keep installing new programs that will start as soon as the system starts, that actually clog the system as the operating system is getting loaded. All clutter of the redundant files lead to fragmentation of the memory that is one of the reasons for slow performance in computers. You must realize that like every other machine even a computer seeks proper and periodic maintenance, otherwise it will eventually break down, like the way it generally happens with a lot of folks.
Here are some of the major tips for speeding up your PC

Increase RAM

if your PC has 2GB of RAM or less for a 32 bit version of Windows you will get a performance boost.  If you have less than 6GB of RAM for a Windows 64bit system this will also help.  One way to note if you need more RAM is to open up your task manager and click on the performance tab.  If you see your free RAM is under 100MB you need more RAM.

Defrag your Hard Drive

If you use a regular hard drive (not SSD) then defragging your hard disk will help improve read and write operations on your disk.  Do this by opening up your my computer, right clicking on your C: drive and click on Tools -> Defrag Now.

Clean out all Temporary Files

Removing all the temporary files and junk that gets stored just from installing programs, browsing the web can help speed up your PC.  Again, open My Computer, Right Click on C:, Click on Properties, General and
click Disk Clean Up.  You can also check mark “Compress drive” to save space.

Cleanup Too Many Running Processes

This takes a little experimentation, and involves you opening up your MSCONFIG (click on start -> Run -> type msconfig)  Look at your program startup, and Google each startup program to see if you need it.  Disable any start programs you don’t need and reboot your PC.  This will help reduce the amount of RAM and CPU usage by programs that just sit in the background and collect data.  Many are updaters for software or devices you have plugged into your PC.
